Amanda has always believed in following her heart, even though sometimes it was the more difficult pathway! To find true happiness in life it is the way that serves you and others. You can’t be truly open and satisfied if you are living against the grain or your own beliefs. She believes that the happier you are the more you have to give.
When she was young, she thought her parents knew best. They were academically high achievers and believed that was the way to have success. She was not academic but dreamy and creative, and loved drama, reading and writing. She was not the ideal academic child!
She went to University and Drama School but felt under pressure to have a ‘proper’ job so went into teaching to relieve her family’s angst! Teaching was a great life experience – dealing with complex and difficult personalities. Teaching and Drama gave her a great insight into humanity.
She completed writing and library courses and had the challenging job of inspiring kids to read, having a great deal of satisfaction when she found the right books for students!
After many years of working in schools and tertiary institutions she was looking for a change and trained with Authentic Education in coaching and marketing courses. It was perfect timing, meeting a community of likeminded people wanting to make a positive difference in the world.
She loves being able to combine her interest areas with coaching, offering unique programs to clients. She loves the creativity of finding just what it is that clients need and using a combination of skills to work out a program that is perfect for them. She is a certified coach with Authentic Education.
She has been a journal writer for over 30 years and has used her writing to make many positive changes in her life, including meeting her life partner. She uses the Positive Intelligence exercises and techniques every day, combining it with physical exercise and finds it keeps her happy and grounded in life.
